SPRING: Springtime offers the nature lover a virtual paradise. The woods around Danville show off their blanket of spring colors in the blooming dogwoods, wildflowers and hardwood trees. The temperatures couldn’t be better ranging from the upper 30’s at night to the low 80’s at mid afternoon. SUMMER: Danville and the Arkansas River Valley feature warm and sometimes hot weather for the sun loving Arkansan with Summer temperatures averaging 80 degrees. Fortunately there are plenty of lakes and streams within a few minutes drive of Danville to cool off. In addition to the known lakes, ask the locals to the directions to the lesser known cooling off spots and you’ll be pleasantly surprised that the idea of an ole swimming hole is still alive in the area.
Spring Lake Dam FALL: Like the springtime, there’s no better place in the USA to be than right here in the Ouachita National Forest during the changing of the seasons. Danville is fortunate to be located near thousands of acres of National Forest providing the opportunity to view fall foliage at its best. Blessed opportunities for hunters begin during this time and for those less enthusiastic for hunting and would prefer a moment of solitude, Danville is a great home base for a hiking or biking adventure, but look out while you’re there, sightings of fox, deer, and even brown bear are common for the area. WINTER: If long cold winters and a lot of snow are not in your seasonal plans, then the Arkansas River Valley is the place to be. The average winter temperature is 45 degrees and we experience short spans of snowy weather for just a taste of winter fun. Average annual snowfall is 1.8 inches. Annual Precipitation - 49 inches |
